Chief Financial Officer

Our client in the service industry is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Orange County.


Job Description:

  • Serve as a key financial advisor and member of the executive team
  • Participate in strategic, financial and operational planning
  • Develop strategies to optimize financial and tax benefits, including cost-saving initiatives
  • Assist with due diligence and negotiations for new business initiatives
  • Manage the accounting, treasury, tax, investor relations and human resources/benefit administration functions
  • Oversee both corporate and subsidiary accounting
  • Manage the budgeting and capital expenditure processes
  • Oversee risk and audit management, regulatory compliance, legal and insurance issues, and related details
  • Manage and review financial reporting for various audiences
  • Develop analytical tools and metrics to support strategic planning and growth
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company, industry and market trends
  • Develop relationships and communicate regularly with other members of the team
  • Communicate with bank representatives and other third-party consultants
  • Manage and maintain financial systems
  • Ensure compliance with controls, requirements, policies and procedures
  • Review and implement improvements to systems, controls, policies and procedures
  • Keep abreast of functional and industry trends, developments and best practices
  • Supervise, hire and train staff
  • Other duties and special projects as needed



  • Advanced degree strongly desired
  • CPA, CMA or similar certifications preferred
  • Experience in the corporate finance department or division of a large company
  • Experience in the engineering, utility, service or related industries preferred
  • Proven experience leading a finance and accounting team
  • Experience working with other members of an executive team
  • Solid background in SOX and SEC reporting
  • Experience with investors, capital and M&A preferred
  • Proficient with financial systems and the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong leadership, management, analytical, critical and strategic thinking, problem-solving and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Able to manage competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency
  • Able to be discrete with confidential information
  • Able to work cross-functionally with ease

  • Polished, professional attitude



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, including at least 3 years at the senior management level
