Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for a Controller to join their team in Los Angeles County.


Job Description:

  • Develop and administer objectives, operating policies and procedures, budget and strategic action plans for achieving goals
  • Oversee daily general ledger accounting and coordinating with the transaction processing to
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statement close process,
  • Oversee all aspects of compliance program,
  • Oversee all aspects of the billing and client financial reporting system
  • Oversee all auditor relationships
  • Perform second level review of account reconciliations and transaction processing and maintain internal relationships with other departments
  • Manage special projects requested by management, clients and auditors



  • CPA or CPA eligibility a plus
  • Experience with nonprofit accounting and DCAA or other US government auditors
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and ERP system skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field and a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience
