Interim Accounting Manager (Project)

Our client in the consumer product industry is looking for an Interim Accounting Manager to join their team in Los Angeles County


Job Description:

  • Prepare weekly and monthly netsuite and internal sales reports
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources
  • Assist with utilities, insurance, and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities
  • Perform daily management and timely processing of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and reconciliation of books
  • Assist department heads to establish budgets and review them weekly/monthly
  • Prepare month end close in accounting software
  • Help maintain the chart of accounts
  • Help maintain an orderly accounting filing system and a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Oversee all aspects of the finance & accounting functions
  • Perform and assess current spend vs. budget and identify any risk and/or opportunity area
  • Help Sales Director to implement, monitor and update wholesaler pricing strategy
  • Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports
  • Prepare financial information so that outside accountants can complete annual tax returns
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Prepare variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Perform and monitor financial activities and details
  • Assist the external auditors
  • Produce with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings



  • MBA preferred
  • CPA license
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and MRP Systems skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities

  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
