Our client in the real estate industry is looking for a Payroll Tax Specialist to join their team in Los Angeles County.
Job Description:
- Perform research, analysis and necessary reconciliation
- Assist with requests for information and follows up with internal/external audit and federal, state and local tax audits
- Interact with the IRS, tax agencies, customers and other areas internal
- Assist in the research of unemployment tax issues
- Help process a weekly, biweekly or semimonthly payrolls
- Assist with quarter-end and year-end
- Perform a final audit of all data received
- Assist in processing payroll entries for bonuses, commissions, relocations, stock options, etc.
- Assist functional units with special/exception payrolls and related reporting
- Assist in periodic and annual payroll audits
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and ADP tax systems skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
- Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
- Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
- Able to adapt to changing priorities
- Detail-oriented
- Strong work ethic
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field and a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
