Payroll Tax Specialist

Our client in the real estate industry is looking for a Payroll Tax Specialist to join their team in Los Angeles County.


Job Description:

  • Perform research, analysis and necessary reconciliation
  • Assist with requests for information and follows up with internal/external audit and federal, state and local tax audits
  • Interact with the IRS, tax agencies, customers and other areas internal
  • Assist in the research of unemployment tax issues
  • Help process a weekly, biweekly or semimonthly payrolls
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end
  • Perform a final audit of all data received
  • Assist in processing payroll entries for bonuses, commissions, relocations, stock options, etc.
  • Assist functional units with special/exception payrolls and related reporting
  • Assist in periodic and annual payroll audits



  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and ADP tax systems skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field and a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
