Interim Investment Accounting Controller (Project)

Our client in the real estate company industry is looking for an Interim Investment Accounting Controller to join their team in Los Angeles County

 

Job Description:

  • Manage and review the investment accounting functions
  • Develop and improve processes and monthly close, analytical review of monthly operating results and accounting workbooks and ensure compliance
  • Perform and review accretion calculations, monthly accruals, monthly and quarterly reporting and cash projections
  • Perform and review and understand partnership agreements and loan agreements
  • Perform and review and monitor consolidation/elimination entries are complete and accurate
  • Oversee, mentor and train the Investment Accounting team
  • Prepare the company’s annual budget, monitor operating results and update forecasts
  • Assist with internal and external auditors

 

Requirements:

  • CPA license
  • Public/Big 4 accounting experience
  • Experience in the financial services, real estate or related industries
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented

  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience
