Interim Payroll Accountant (Project)

Our client in the technology industry is looking for an Interim Payroll Accountant to join their team in Santa Barbara County.

 

Job Description:

  • Process semi-monthly payroll
  • Help ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursements
  • Prepare journal entries and payroll-related accruals
  • Perform reconciliations and provide analysis of fluctuations
  • Maintain employee payroll data
  • Participate in systems implementation as necessary
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Track and review changes to benefit deductions and compensation
  • Manage and record 401k contributions
  • Process year end tax forms

 

Requirements:

  • CPP certification preferred
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
