Interim Payroll Specialist(Project)

Our client in the legal industry is looking for an Interim Payroll Specialist to join their team in Los Angeles County.

 

Job Description:

  • Help maintain payroll records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports
  • Prepare accounting transactions and documents
  • Perform manual check processing, data source uploads, ad hoc reporting and queries, garnishment processing, system calculations, employee updates/edits, and tax update testing
  • Prepare bi-weekly/semi-monthly/quarterly/annual tax reports
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax filing for all jurisdictions
  • Assist with W-2 processing and distribution
  • Develop and validate bi-weekly/semi-monthly general ledger files
  • Help maintain YTD balances of salary accounts
  • Assist Managers to collect and report salary data
  • Assist with employee processing

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills (
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
