Interim Cost Accounting Manager (Project)

Our client in the manufacturing/distribution products industry is looking for an Interim Cost Accounting Manager to join their team in Orange County


Job Description:

  • Oversee the inventory and cost accounting
  • Manage the Company’s accounting for Fixed Assets,
  • Prepare forecasts for annual plans, monthly and quarterly forecast flashes, and provide operating finance reporting to operations with analytical support
  • Lead and assist with month-end closings
  • Assist manufacturing, product development and tester groups.
  • Manage timely updates of product costs
  • Develop bench marking to evaluate performance of business units and/or departments
  • Manage, train and mentor employees
  • Prepare company forecasts and budgets
  • Assist accounting team on profit and loss statement closing
  • Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare Internal and external audits
  • Assist independent accountant audits and financial reporting for quarterly and annual reports


  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and ERP system skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
