Interim Payroll & Benefits Specialist (Project)

Our client in the consumer products industry is looking for an Interim Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join their team in the Los Angeles County

 

Job Description:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, benefits deductions and 401(k) funding
  • Maintain payroll records and processes updates
  • Process final checks
  • Prepare monthly payroll reporting
  • Maintain bi-weekly ACA payroll reports
  • Conduct end of year ACA audit
  • Prepare and file W2s
  • Manage benefits eligibility, enrollment, terminations and COBRA notifications
  • Analyze and reconcile health insurance deductions
  • Maintain and reconcile vacation and sick time accruals
  • Complete EDD, disability, garnishments, wage orders, census and other state/federal filings
  • Report Workers’ Compensation claims
  • Maintain files and quarterly HR audit
  • Manage auto insurance enrollment with insurance broker
  • Prepare annual 5500 documents
  • Perform and complete employment authorizations

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills and Paylocity experience a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree a plus and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
