Interim Grants Accountant (Project)

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for an Interim Grants Accountant to join their team in Los Angeles County.

 

Job Description:

  • Assist with grants proposals
  • Help create and maintain a grant summary
  • Perform monthly monitoring
  • Review and suggest improvements to processes, policies and procedures
  • Provide grant tracking
  • Provide monthly review of grant, contract and expenditure criteria and budget reporting requirements
  • Assist with account maintenance
  • Prepare periodic financial reports
  • Help distribute monthly grant funds report
  • Perform general ledger
  • Responsible for recording payroll costs
  • Prepare and analyze monthly allocation of costs
  • Prepare and post deposits
  • Responsible for record keeping
  • Maintain electronic files of contracts, awards and grants
  • Perform and manage audits
  • Assist with payroll processing and submission for as needed coverage

 

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 1 years’ relevant experience
