Interim Controller (Project)

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for an Interim Controller to join their team in Alameda County


Job Description:

  • Oversee accounting activities
  • Help prepare and distribute financial statements and reports
  • Help analyze revenue and expense trends, costs, revenues and financial commitments
  • Manage and coordinate the annual audit plan
  • Develop revenue/expense analyses, projections and reports
  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Manage treasury activities
  • Prepare annual information returns and reports
  • Prepare grants/contract budget proposals
  • Review and suggest improvements to processes, policies and procedures
  • Manage lease agreements
  • Supervise the grant accounting process
  • Monitors invoices, budgets, grants and funds
  • Oversee payroll processing
  • Oversee gross pay, accruals and status forms
  • Reviews and approve payroll reports and benefit plans
  • Oversee benefits administration, benefits compliance and reporting



  • CPA preferred
  • Experience in the non-profit, health or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills and QuickBooks experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience
