Accounting Assistant

Our client in the construction/engineering industry is looking for a Accounting Assistant to join their team in Contra Costa County

 

Job Description:

  • Help process payroll
  • Manage purchase orders and process receipts
  • Perform AR work and process AP
  • Help resolve invoice discrepancies and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain A/P files
  • Maintain W9 forms and tax exempt certificates
  • Responsible for checking production inputs and run reports
  • Responsible for cycle counting/inventory control and variance analysis of budgeted and actual costs
  • Assist with month end close
  • Prepare yearly budget proposals

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in the construction or related industries preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills and Sage experience a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
