Interim Payroll Specialist (Project)

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for an Interim Payroll Specialist to join their team in Orange County

 

Job Description:

  • Enter all payroll related information and update the payroll system
  • Help create the payroll processing schedule
  • Develop and facilitate staff training
  • Prepare, edit and update all payroll reports
  • Prepare to process payroll by reviewing changes, current/previous time sheets
  • Help process time cards and time and attendance system
  • Help reconcile health insurance and all other benefit plans to monthly statements
  • Prepare and review federal, state and local tax reports
  • Assist with system provider to set up new payroll/HRIS system
  • Help reconcile periodic Workers’ Comp and manage annual Workers’ Comp audit

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
