Interim Payroll Specialist (Project)

Our client in the service company industry is looking for an Interim Payroll Specialist to join their team in Orange County

 

Job Description:

  • Prepare, track and enter payroll data into the payroll system
  • Help process child support, wage garnishments and terminations
  • Prepare and review wages computed, audit timekeeping records and correct any errors
  • Assist the employee maintenance in the system
  • Prepare and issue any manual checks
  • Process, review and audit automated standard reports to verify accuracy and correct any out of balance transactions
  • Facilitate audit requests, prepare special reports and/or work on special projects as assigned by management
  • Mentor, train and provide support to junior team members on issues and questions concerning payroll related topics
  • Resolve payroll questions and issues

 

Requirements:

  • FPP designation preferred
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources or related field and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
