Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for a Controller to join their team in the Alameda County.


Job Description:

  • Oversee accounting functions, financial reporting, AR/billing, AP, payroll and federal/state/city reporting requirements
  • Produce financial reports for stakeholders
  • Develop, mentor and train accounting members
  • Help identify and implement technology solutions and drive towards automation
  • Review and suggest improvements to policies and procedures
  • Assist with financial information, grant applications and reporting
  • Manage and project weekly/monthly cash flow
  • Help lead annual financial and contract audits, filing, licenses, permits and statutory filings
  • Manage financial vendor relationships
  • Oversee financial records, budget reporting system and paperless accounting optimizing
  • Perform cost analysis
  • Prepare quarterly cost reports
  • Help identify cost-control measures and initiatives



  • CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
