Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for a Controller to join their team in Alameda County


Job Description:

  • Manage accounts, reporting systems and legers
  • Oversee grant/contract receipts and expenditures
  • Manage collections
  • Prepare internal and external financial statements
  • Oversee cash flow and budget reports
  • Assist in the documentation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Assist with the fiscal preparation of proposals for funding
  • Manage business performance metrics in Intacct
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Manage revenues and expenses to ensure they are reconciled
  • Assist with preparing tax returns
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end audit schedules and reports
  • Oversee bookkeeping and accounting records for agency
  • Manage cash flow analysis, balance sheets and income statements
  • Prepare journal entries


  • CPA license
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of ERP
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • A team player



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field and a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience
