Interim Payroll Specialist (Project)

Our client in the construction industry is looking for an Interim Payroll Specialist to join their team in Orange County


Job Description:

  • Help process multi-state payroll weekly and semi-monthly
  • Process weekly and semi-monthly multi-state payroll for employees and temporary workers
  • Help analyze payroll data, timecards and time punches supplied
  • Help input and balance payroll data
  • Manage the weekly and semi-monthly payroll processes
  • Perform withholding and submission of payroll taxes and other deductions
  • Assist with employee payroll questions and Time & Labor questions
  • Assist audit-related process of payroll
  • Oversee the maintenance of the payroll information system
  • Perform Verification of Employments



  • CPP preferred
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
