Payroll Accountant

Our client in the non-profit industry is looking for a Payroll Accountant to join their team in Denver


Job Description:

  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll
  • Create ad hoc payroll and/or benefit costs reports
  • Research and analyze payroll expense variations
  • Create journal entries
  • Prepare monthly benefit allocations report
  • Reconcile payroll, benefit, and self-funding accounts with GL
  • Review new and old department distribution and cost numbers
  • Assist with audit reports and requests
  • Prepare PTO accruals and commuter check reports
  • Monitor and analyze budget process and variances



  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
