Payroll Manager

Our client in the construction/engineering industry is looking for a Payroll Manager to join their team in Alameda County

 

Job Description:

  • Setup new employees, new state withholding and unemployment accounts
  • Assist the HR Assistant with benefits administration, on boarding, termination, promotion, compensation changes, leave requests, W4-tax withholding, employee deductions
  • Help review and enter weekly and bi-weekly timecards
  • Prepare preliminary and final payroll and upload ACH, direct deposit file to the bank
  • Process required garnishments on a weekly and bi-weekly schedule
  • Respond to employment verification request and to employees’ questions on payroll issues
  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Prepare, send, and file the W2’s for federal and state

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills (
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
