Staff Accountant

Our client in the public accounting industry is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team in Los Angeles

 

Job Description:

  • Review client records to identify areas of potential unclaimed property noncompliance
  • Perform interviews of client’s accounting and departmental personnel
  • Identify client’s potential unclaimed property exposure
  • Develop strategic plans to limit client’s potential exposure
  • Present suggestions to clients to reduce potential exposure
  • Prepare models by employing methodologies to calculate potential exposure
  • Assist with the management of client’s state unclaimed property audits
  • Assist in drafting technical written memorandums
  • Assist with analysis of clients’ unclaimed property policies and procedures
  • Prepare and file annual unclaimed property reports to all US jurisdictions

 

Requirements:

  • MBA preferred
  • CPA license
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or related field and a minimum of 1 years’ relevant experience
