Chief Executive Officer
Ron Proul has been a member of the Century Group management team since 1995 and was appointed CEO in 2007. Over his tenure, he has held various responsibilities, including President and COO, prior to his appointment to CEO. He began his career with the firm as an associate with responsibility for direct recruiting and sourcing of candidates for the firm’s clients.
During his tenure, Ron has managed numerous clients and successfully executed hundreds of searches in a variety of industries, including biotech, consumer products, software, financial services, investments and entertainment. He currently oversees all corporate administration, business development, research, recruiting, and marketing for retained search, contingency search and project consulting practices.
Ron has also been published and quoted on the field of executive search by a variety of publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Fordyce Letter and Los Angeles Business Journal. He served on numerous committees and boards and is a judge for the annual CFO of the year Awards for the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Ron holds a Bachelor Degree from Whittier College and was previously with a national firm prior to joining Century Group in 1990.
President & Chief Operating Officer
Based in Los Angeles, Ron's focus is executing client search engagements for CFO/Finance Executives, Controllership, and mid-management roles in finance and accounting for emerging, mid-market and Fortune 1000 clients. He is COO and Secretary of the Board for Century Group International and co-founder of Century Group Professionals LLC, which provides project and interim services in accounting and finance.
Ron has served as a judge for the CFO of the Year Awards, is a frequent speaker to professional groups and associations, and has contributed articles on career search to ExecuNet’s CareerSmart Advisor, The Daily Deal, The Business Edge and AFP’s Futures in Finance newsletter.
Beyond Century Group
Ron currently serves as Director for CFOLA, and as a Board member and committee chair for EO - Entrepreneurs' Organization. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for Glendale Memorial Health Foundation, ranked one of America's Top 50 Hospitals and Prototypes. He is also a member of Financial Executives International.
Before Century Group
Prior to joining Century Group, Ron was with the OC practice of RH Management Resources, a $500m division of a Fortune 1000 company. Previously, he was a Senior Consultant with Peterson Consulting - now Navigant Consulting (NYSE) - consulting with financial institutions and government agencies on restructuring, finance and transaction advisory. He began his career in public accounting and is a graduate of the University of Redlands, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
General Counsel & Managing Director, Human Resources
Francesca Brooks joined Century Group in 2016 as General Counsel & Managing Director, Human Resources. She previously served as a Director of Human Resources and General Counsel for Nautilus International Holdings Corporation and Aston Marketing Group.
After earning her Bachelor's degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills and Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, Francesca worked as an Associate Attorney with Rovens Lamb LLP, a boutique law firm focused on business law. After which, she had a successful practice specializing in employment law, litigating employment matters on behalf of both employees and employers in California state and federal courts.
She holds a Professional Human Resources certificate and is a member of the California State Bar. She has been honored as a Rising Star, as well as a Leader in Law by the Corporate Counsel of the Year Awards. Francesca is also an alumna and former board member of Leadership Hermosa Beach, member of Kiwanis International and former member of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club.
A veteran of nearly 20 years in the staffing industry, Phil Bruno serves as Executive Director of Century Group’s San Fernando Valley Office. Throughout his career, he has participated in all aspects of the business, from hands-on sales and recruiting to serving as Regional Vice President of one of the national leaders in employment and staffing services. He has also worked in various business lines of the industry as well, including management consulting, accounting and finance, legal, technology, and creative, which helped prepare him for the task of building and managing markets.
Phil took this expertise and expanded on it when he served as Market Manager for another leading staffing firm, turning a small operation into a multi-division team with internal growth potential. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Redlands. Beyond the staffing industry, he is a proud supporter of the March of Dimes and their annual fundraiser, March for Babies, as well as the Dolores Mission and HFS Adoption and Foster Care.
Director of Talent Acquisition
Lisa Chang joined Century Group as the Director of Talent Acquisition in 2015. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade honing her skills in recruitment and talent acquisition through positions with a number of companies – both locally and nationally – and as a consultant. This background makes her well-suited to lead the company's internal recruitment efforts as the company continues to grow.
Lisa previously handled the recruitment process for the tech and entertainment industries with companies such as Disney and Technicolor, as well as in finance, more specifically in the areas of banking, financial planning and tax with Indymac Bank and KPMG. She has been described as extremely knowledgeable, professional and polished – a recruiter who makes it a point to get to know the needs of a company, has a positive attitude, stays ahead of industry trends, and has keen understanding of the hiring process. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a concentration in Human Resources Management from the University of California, Riverside.
Ryan Malcolm joined Century Group as Corporate Controller in 2017. A Certified Public Accountant, he began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where he spent more than seven years. In his last role as Manager in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services group, he worked with large and middle market clients in the manufacturing/distribution, retail and service industries.
Most recently, Ryan held a Senior Accounting Management role with DirecTV, where he managed a variety of aspects of operational accounting and finance in the Supplier Payments division. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
Senior Marketing Manager
Sabrina Maharaj is the Sr. Marketing Manager in the El Segundo office responsible for leading Century Group's overall marketing strategy. She works with the executive leadership team to promote the Century Group brand and drive the candidate and client experience through targeted marketing strategies. She has a passion for understanding user behavior and enjoys exploring data to identify optimization opportunities and develop informed business recommendations.
Prior to joining Century Group, Sabrina held various digital marketing roles working within the entertainment, tech and retail industries — focused primarily on driving brand awareness, developing consumer-driven content and implementing acquisition and engagement strategies. Sabrina holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach.
Manager of Sales Operations
Melody Parker is a Project Manager on the Corporate Services team in the El Segundo office. In her role, she has helped the company’s back-end operations by managing the sales support team, implementing and launching system and database solutions, and providing sales analysis and performance metrics. While studying Business Management at the University of Phoenix, she has worked in operational and administrative support roles to various mid to large sized organizations.
Talent Acquisition Manager
Megan Helgeson is a Talent Acquisition Manager in the El Segundo office and works with Century Group leaders to recruit and retain top talent. She believes surrounding yourself with motivated, intellectual and inspiring individuals is important — so being able to help build her own team is a privilege.
Prior to Century Group, she honed her skills as a Corporate Recruiter for Celtic Commercial Finance. There, Megan supported the company’s talent management efforts through two acquisitions, handling both the hiring and termination processes. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science – Law, Politics, and Policy from California State University, Long Beach.
Manager of Communications and Sales Content
Marielle Gilbert is the Manager of Communications and Sales Content in the El Segundo office. In her role, she utilizes her extensive background in communications to empower the sales and recruiting teams with messaging and training that drive business goals.
Prior to Century Group, Marielle was Content Manager at one of the Inc. 500’s fastest growing education companies, where she oversaw corporate content creation and the development of messaging that strengthened sales and marketing initiatives. Her work experience also includes securing high-profile coverage with various publications, such as Adweek, Huffington Post and Inc. Magazine. She graduated with honors from Northwestern University.
Silvia Castillo is a Senior Accountant in the El Segundo office. In her role, she handles the consultant's payroll for the project team. She also works with the controller to assist with other accounting projects and responsibilities.
Prior to Century Group, she gained experience in payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable through accounting positions with small to large size companies. She earned her B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the California State University of Dominguez Hills.
Gregory Siqueiros is a Senior Accountant in the El Segundo office. He works to ensure the integrity of the firm’s accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions, as well as maintaining account balances, financial statements, general ledger and all reports.
Prior to Century Group, Gregory was a Senior Accountant for a commercial real estate company, managing all accounting functions for multiple retail properties throughout Southern California. He began his career in the hospitality industry as an auditor, where he reconciled daily activity, maintained budget control and analyzed financial statements. A Los Angeles native, Gregory earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from New Mexico Highlands University.
Senior Associate, HR and Sales Operations Support
Elizabeth Valadez is a Senior Associate, HR and Sales Operations Support who works with the Corporate Services team in the El Segundo Office. In her role, she supports both the interim and executive recruiting teams with building their candidate and client relationships.
Prior to Century Group, Elizabeth worked as a manager at a rental company where she assisted with customer relations and personnel training. She obtained her degrees in Psychology and Human Development from California State University, Long Beach, and earned her Human Resource Management Certificate from Loyola Marymount University.
Senior Associate, Sales Operations Support
Dora Dang is an Associate, Sales Operation Support, who works with the Corporate Services team in the El Segundo Office. In her role, she supports both the interim and executive recruiting teams building their candidate and client relationships.
Prior to Century Group, Dora worked as a supervisor in the retail and airline industries, where she received many awards of Employee of the month numerous times and Excellent customer service. Dora holds a Bachelor’s degree in Asian and Asian American Studies from California State University, Los Angeles. She is currently pursuing her MBA in Project Management and Human Resources from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Dani Villalobos is a Marketing Associate in the El Segundo office. She utilizes her background in broadcast, online and print journalism to successfully share Century Group’s brand and services in a compelling, strategic fashion across multiple platforms.
Prior to joining Century Group, Dani wrote in the areas of health and fitness, arts and entertainment, agriculture, education, green-living and others for news organizations throughout the country. Most recently, she worked as an award-winning niche publications reporter at The Fresno Bee — highlighting lifestyle and community news. Dani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from California State University, Fresno and a Master’s degree in Arts Journalism from Syracuse University.
Associate, Sales Operations Support
Alexandra Real is an Associate, Sales Operations Support who works with the Corporate Services team in the El Segundo Office. In her role, she supports both the interim and executive recruiting teams with building their candidate and client relationships.
Prior to Century Group, Alexandra was self-employed selling bikes and antiques. She was also a junior mural painter who worked with The Santa Barbara Arts Alliance to create art and discourage graffiti in public places. A member of the Sociology and Psychology International Honors Societies, Alexandra holds a Sociology major and Psychology minor from CSU Channel Islands.
