Director of Finance and Operations

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for a Director of Finance and Operations to join their team in Los Angeles County.

 

Job Description:

  • Manage and maintain office equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner
  • Oversee recruitment of new staff
  • Assist contractors and vendors
  • On-board new staff and board members
  • Manage logistics for Board meetings;
  • Help process and oversee payroll and disbursements
  • Implement and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable, invoicing/billing, collections, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting
  • Assist with contract and revenue tracking to ensure revenue booked in proper periods
  • Prepare and examine contract documents
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with foundation
  • Assist with preparation of annual organizational budget, track and manage the budget
  • Produce monthly and annual financial reports
  • Manage the annual audit

 

Requirements:

  • Masters degree preferred
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel and QuickBooks skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
