Staff Accountant

Our client in the retail industry is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team in Santa Barbara County.

 

Job Description:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Reconcile inter-company AR and AP
  • Post bi-weekly payroll and calculate month end payroll accruals
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Review and implement improvements to processes, policies and procedures
  • Help prepare departmental budgets
  • Assist with SEC reporting
  • Develop special reports and ad-hoc analyses

 

Requirements:

  • CPA license or eligibility a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
