Interim Accounting Manager (Project)

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for an Interim Accounting Manager to join their team in the San Gabriel Valley

 

Job Description:

  • Revise accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
  • Develop and implement training programs
  • Manage financial, project/program and grants accounting
  • Ensure expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets
  • Prepare budgets for grants proposals and financial reports for grant reports
  • Collate financial reporting materials
  • Maintain internal control, safeguards and accounting controls
  • Ensure compliance and appropriate record-keeping and reporting
  • Support financial revenue and expense allocation methodology
  • Create and maintain effective management tools
  • Manage and track the performance of invested assets
  • Supervise and prepare month end account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Prepare audit schedules
  • Supervise government audits
  • Oversee external audit and workers comp audits
  • Prepare Tax Return Form 990 organizer
  • Assist the CFO

 

Requirements:

  • CPA license
  • Experience in the financial services, nonprofit or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills, Financial Edge and ADP experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
