Chief Financial Officer

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Ventura County


Job Description:

  • Prepare annual operating plan, identifying and qualifying financial/operational risks
  • Manage accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting and projection work
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconciliation to general ledger control accounts
  • Analyze and design key financial processes that lead to better operational decisions
  • Oversee day-to-day cash management
  • Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecast development
  • Prepare general journal entries
  • Lead monthly financial reporting process for the Board of Directors



  • CPA license
  • Experience in the nonprofit industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience
