Chief Financial Officer

Our client in the nonprofit industry is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Ventura County

 

Job Description:

  • Responsible for directing and managing the fiscal department
  • Manage all administrative systems
  • Oversee fiscal accounting, operations and regular reporting
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of select administrative and agency support personnel
  • Coordinate the design and implementation of forms, procedures, and systems
  • Oversee IT support staff/vendors
  • Develop and maintain facility manual for each Interface site
  • Develop and maintain systems for inventory control and purchases including supplies, equipment and services according to agency standards
  • Develop and maintain agency standards for filing, sorting and retrieving administrative, and contractual files and information
  • Prepare annual budget for submission
  • Help monitor approved budget on a monthly basis to actual financial results.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and budget comparisons, and other periodic financial reports
  • Develop and disseminate monthly departmental program budgets
  • Oversee the processing and control of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and grants
  • Oversee the processing of payroll and payroll records
  • Responsible for overall development of fiscal procedure manual
  • Responsible for seeing that the agency is adequately insured, monitors insurance policies and coverage limits for contract compliance
  • Responsible for the internal evaluation, installation and maintenance of agency automated accounting systems
  • Prepare funding source and contract compliance reports with the department directors
  • Assist in evaluation of components of all departments on regular basis

Requirements:

  • CPA license
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
