Our client in the energy industry is looking for a Controller to join their team in Los Angeles County


Job Description:

  • Perform monthly close and ensures all reconciliations
  • Coordinate audit process, tax returns and tax planning
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition
  • Prepare and review budgets prepared by director of financial planning, and motivates department heads
  • Identify and execute cost saving measures
  • Prepare regular staff and coaching meetings with direct reports
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external management meetings



  • CPA license preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • A team player
  • Strong work ethic



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience
